How dependable is the SOS feature?
The SOS feature of the SPOT Gen3 is the highest priority message sent from the device. When initiated, the SOS message transmission takes priority over all other messages. FocusPoint International, Inc. provides the SOS/911 monitoring included in your Basic Service. Your device will send FocusPoint International Inc. your GPS coordinates every 5 minutes until SOS is cancelled, the batteries die, or the unit is powered off. Note: Powering off the unit will still potentially result in a Search and Rescue attempt.
Does SOS work on a Flex plan during a period of suspension?
The SOS feature will only be available on the device with an active subscription. The SOS feature will not be available when the service is suspended.

Does the SOS message take priority in the messaging queue?
Yes, the SOS message will always abort other messages in the messaging queue.
What happens if I press the SOS button?
FocusPoint International, Inc. provides the SOS/911 monitoring included in your Basic Service. Your device will send FocusPoint International Inc. your GPS coordinates every 2.5 minutes. Once acknowledged, your GPS location is provided every 5 minutes.
