Spotter International Brings Customized Solutions for Horse Tracking Using the Globalstar Satellite Network

Spotter International was established in 2014 to provide customized solutions for horse tracking using the Globalstar satellite network and IoT devices. Since then, it has developed itself to be an expert integrator of Globalstar products in Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Mongolia and others. Other than horse/animal tracking, it has been providing services to mining industries, the military, border police and national emergency services.

Spotter has its own mapping platform with satellite based images which the client can use to navigate and find its asset/horses which roam in remote areas of Central Asia. Since the majority of clients are in very remote areas where it has no/poor internet connection - it also provides SMS (short message) services. The SMS message includes the relative location of the asset/horses such as "Horse Group#1 is south-east of water point #1, about 2km distance". Therefore, in this case, it is not necessary to know the latitude and longitude since the client knows where 'water point #1' is located.

Horses in Central Asia roam freely and travel tens of kilometers to feed. During bad weather (snow storm/heavy rain/strong wind) or other conditions such as being hunted by wolves, horses can travel over 100km. When this happens, the horsemen spend days searching and it is not uncommon for them to lose whole groups of horses or find them after several months provinces away. Therefore, the Spotter solution not only helps them save on search and rescue costs, but also provides peace of mind.

As an additional service, Spotter's horse registration platform is used by clients to register their horses with microchips which is linked to the livestock theft prevention division of the General Police Department in Mongolia.
